I love writing in my diary. Sometimes when I'm feeling blue, it helps me to just write down how I feel. Here are some helpful hints for writing in your diary:
Record the date and where you are and any feelings you have (happy, sad, mad, tired, hungry).
Leave every other line blank or leave blank pages. After your diary is filled, you may want to add comments or insights from an older, wiser you.
Use different colored pens or pencils to write about different subjects or make important thoughts stand out.
Glue clippings, ticket stubs or photographs into your diary.
Write about the things that are important to you.
Make lists of all your favorite movies, songs and books, and add to it each year. Don't forget to date your entries!
Include drawings or scribbles.
Try to write something everyday, even if you have nothing to say. If you miss a few days, don't give up--pick up a pen and record what you were doing.
Keep pens and pencils with your diary in a safe place so you don't waste time looking for them.
Your diary is yours and yours alone. You don't have to share it with anyone if you don't want to. Keep your diary in a safe place. Here are some ideas:
In your closet in the pocket of a jacket or inside an old backpack on the top shelf.
Between the mattress and box springs of your bed. Or, tuck it inside your pillow case.
Slide a shoe box under your nightstand or bureau. Keep your diary inside under the tissue paper.
